Mesquite sparks in an explosive dance. 8 second exposure. I took about 100 shots, and this is one my favorites. I almost posted it upside down, where it looks like some kind of fire ghost.

I spent most of the day programming, so I was pretty burnt by the end of the evening. I found an old AFM (atomic force microscope) in the garage and wrote out my feelings with 60 xenon atoms (all I had around).

Between Modesto and Lake McClure. Reminded me of the book/movie “Holes”. They’re either putting in or taking out an orchard. Just rows and rows of deep holes, and three yellow monsters chomping away.
