This was my father’s 16mm Bolex camera that all our home movies were shot on. It is also the camera I used to make all my first movies and animations. It’s an important part of my personal history, so I thought it would be nice to do a beauty shot of it.

Taken after I gave a talk at UCSC. Spun the camera around, no retouching. I like that the center leaves appear to have no blur.

Our new pet with a hearty appetite for crickets. The ISO was set too high on the camera, so the picture is overly grainy. She doesn’t mind posing, so I’ll shoot her again another day.

With no other ants around, these three look like they’re watching each other’s backs after a long recon mission.
