Tonight I cut the display\u00a0from 1\/4″ poplar on a laser cutter and installed the switches, pots and displays. (The single 7 segment display on the left still needs to be mounted.) I struggled with how to easily mount the other two displays – a short (<1\/4″) very thin wood screw was needed… then hot glue came to the rescue. I can simply cut them off when I want to move them to a final version of the panel.<\/p>\n

The layout is a tuned version of the where the paper prototype finished up. The poplar sheet I found was 7.5″ wide, while the paper version was 8″. I decided to move things around a bit to fit that size, and used a Golden Rectangle for the aspect ratio – that dictated 6.5″ x 10.5″. Everything then slid onto a nice grid based on that.<\/p>\n
