The Zeppelin – Again!

Teaching has its definite perks. We took our CMU ETC students on a field trip to learn more about the Bay Area – and how better than from a couple thousand feet overhead. Airship Ventures to the rescue! We took off from Oakland, headed over the Bay Bridge, past SF, around Angel Island and back to OAK.

Gopher Guest

Last time it was a shrew, tonight we had a gopher pay a visit. We need to keep our doors closed.

After we caught him and did our photo shoot, we released him in a wooded area at the far corner of our lot, far from the lawn and garden. Just a few minutes later he was scurrying across the patio back to where the gopher holes in the lawn are. I’m really not sure how he found his way – it was pretty far. We caught him again and took him for a ride to an empty field. We really don’t want him back in the lawn, and the gopher erradication guy is coming out this week. I didn’t have the heart to play whack-a-mole with him, so off he went.

My Students, Rock ‘n’ Roll Style

Class is back in session for our Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center students. We have two teams out here this semester, and as is customary I shoot team photos at the beginning and the end of the term. I went for an album cover look this time. Shot in a hallway at EA with plenty of natural backlighting from the windows and fill light from a flash. Processed heavily in Lightroom. I loved their attitudes!
