March 26, 2008 – Calla Lily

I think to be a photographer (or a painter) you have to have a Calla Lily in your portfolio, right? Here’s mine.
We have a huge Calla Lily plant in our backyard, this is one of dozens on it. Shot late afternoon with a hand held flash.

March 8, 2008 – Arroyo Lupine

Sarah and I went hiking today on Russian Ridge in the Midpenninsula Open Space Preserve. The wildflowers are just beginning to come out.

March 7, 2008 – Indoor Skydiving

Eric does a little freefall soloing. Taken at iFly, an indoor skydiving operation. This is a vertical wind tunnel that simulates skydiving with airflow from 100 to 150 mph.

December 5, 2007 – Cool News from CMU

This shot was taken during the closing finale to the Building Virtual Worlds student presentations of the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon. These graduate students have just finished the first semester of their two year pursuit of a Masters of Entertainment Technology degree, and have shown off a dozen or so of the virutal worlds they have built to a packed audience in McConomy Auditorium.

The cool news is that I will be a faculty member next semester advising two teams of students who will be working on projects at the ETC’s Silicon Valley campus.

September 15, 2007 – My Cameras


These are the cameras I use regularly. A Canon 10D, an Olympus Stylus770SW, and a Motorola Razr V3.
The picture was taken with the Canon and the Olympus and comp’d together. If you look closely, the image on the screen of the Olympus is looking over the top of the Canon looking at the felt set up for this picture.
How
